The new standard

This contemporary piece is created using 18 surgical masks, symbolizing the new standard of life in 2020.

As always, I focused on the object itself, treated through repetition, as a symbol of protection, a barrier, and confinement.

The two labels serve as a reminder of the difficulties France faced in securing these precious masks and of the country's reliance on Asia.

Materials: acrylic modeling paste, Posca marker, acrylic paint, and acrylic varnish.
