New painting studied in this new section, "DEADLOCK", sized 100x100 cm and made in 2010.
The idea:
It's the result of a mix between the cover of the Pink Floyd album "THE WALL" and the brick walls of New York lofts.
I was also going through a difficult and dark period, where the feeling of being at a dead end was undoubtedly the one that best characterized me.
An impression of frustration, of no solution, of anger as well, was constantly driving me at that time.

Completion:
I first applied a sandy coating with a spatula.
Then, I sculpted it into bricks of different sizes.
Once dry, I worked with acrylic paint by applying multiple layers in shades of gray, black, white, and dense red.
To achieve a realistic effect, I emphasized the flaws of the coating, varied the colors, created volume effects, added drips, scratches...
As a final touch, "DEADLOCK," which means deadlock in English, is written with a marker in the bottom right corner.
The canvas then becomes more striking, graphic, and profound.
